Verona

 

Verona inspired William Shakespeare some of its plays "Two gentlemen from Verona" and the more famous " Romeo and Juliet", that have been performed also in the Roman Arena f this town.

Here ruled for a long period Can Grande della Scala who gave hospitality to Dante Alighieri, the poet remembered the generosity of this man writing about him in the "Paradiso" a section of its masterpiece.

Of this period we can admire several monuments as the castle and the bridge on the river Adige, on the contrary in Piazza delle Erbe where there is a daily picturesque open-air market, we finds ruins of the old Foro Romano. The XVIth century palace Giusti del Giardino is famous for its Italian garden.

But other are the attractions as the several patrick villas situated in the countries of Valpolicella ( this area is famous also for its wines).
